Richard Erik 'Ricky' Fabrikant is an enforcer for an underworld outfit headed by Mr. Fish. Two years ago, his wife left him for Cass Pollack and he has harboured a deep hatred ever since. Shortly after, whilst shaking down some of his boss's streetwalkers, he ran into an independent prostitute working on his patch. This was Dagmar, and there was something about her he could not define.

It was three weeks before he discovered Dagmar's secret. She was a shemale. By that time, Ricky was in love with her, although this something he will never admit to himself.
